Homeschool Curriculum we love | Memoria Press Traditional Spelling Review

I am now 10-years into our homeschooling journey and I have learned a ton. I have used so many different curriculums over the years. It took me years to find a spelling curriculum that worked well for our family. In the beginning I kept trying to "make it fun". I have learned that as important as it is to make learning fun, if I kept trying to learn every subject through play, we weren't going to have enough time to get to everything which meant...we didn't do it at all. Spelling always fell to the last of my priorities and I noticed we weren't doing spelling work nearly as often as we should have been.

I started choosing certain subjects that would just have to be our "get it done" subjects; our "boring" table work. I wanted something that would keep the kids' attention, teach them In a way that works with their learning styles, not be overcomplicated, not require much of my attention, and for the lessons to be QUICK!

Memoria Press Traditional Spelling checked off all the boxes for our family. Lucy (9) looks forward to doing her spelling work. Lilly Belle (12) doesn't mind it or complain about it. The lessons are so quick and effective. I also use this as an opportunity for them to work on their handwriting and require them to write as neatly as possible during their lessons.

I started both of the girls on level two so that they wouldn't have any gaps. I'll start Liam (6) on this curriculum once he starts 2nd grade in the fall. So far, we have not been using the additional practice pages, but I just ordered them because I've noticed it will help them to have a bit extra practice for lessons I find they're misspelling more words than I'd like.

We have been really happy with this curriculum and I won't be switching this one. It's working well. The girls are learning. No one complains. Lessons are quick (10-minutes). Curriculum win for this busy family!

Using curriculums that are quick wins in our day allow us time for all the Let's Play School fun!
